blueberry sangria

A absolutely delicious blueberry sangria with a touch of cinnamon!

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles of red wine
  • 8 ounces of blueberry vodka
  • 2 pints of fresh blueberries (reserve some for serving), rinsed and stems removed
  • 1.5 cups sugar , (10.5 ounces)
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 to 5 nectarines , sliced (more for serving)

Instructions

  • In a large sauce pan, combine the blueberries, water and sugar
  • Heat over medium flame until sugar has dissolved, about 4 to 5 minutes
  • Add cinnamon sticks and continue heating for about 2 to 3 minutes
  • Cool mixture and then combine with wine and vodka in a large pitcher
  • Add fruit and chill for at least 6 hours
  • To serve, add fresh slices of nectarine and blueberries
  • Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired.
