smoked salmon crostini

Easy, no-cook, cold appetizer

Ingredients

  • Smoked salmon (I used sockeye), about 6 oz
  • Cream cheese , 4 oz (1/2 cup)
  • Lemon zest , (from about 2 lemons)
  • Dill , finely chopped, 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper , 1/4 teaspoon or to taste
  • Baguette , 12 slices

Instructions

  1. Toast bread in oven (2 minutes per side using broil setting)
  2. Combine cream cheese, black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, and 1 teaspoon dill in small bowl
  3. Arrange toasted bread slices on serving platter
  4. Divide salmon into 12 pieces
  5. Top toast with pieces of salmon and a small dollop of seasoned cream cheese
  6. Garnish with additional zest and dill
