blueberry sangria

Ingredients
  • 2 bottles of red wine
  • 8 ounces of blueberry vodka
  • 2 pints of fresh blueberries (reserve some for serving), rinsed and stems removed
  • 1.5 cups sugar, (10.5 ounces)
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 to 5 nectarines, sliced (more for serving)
Instructions
  1. In a large sauce pan, combine the blueberries, water and sugar
  2. Heat over medium flame until sugar has dissolved, about 4 to 5 minutes
  3. Add cinnamon sticks and continue heating for about 2 to 3 minutes
  4. Cool mixture and then combine with wine and vodka in a large pitcher
  5. Add fruit and chill for at least 6 hours
  6. To serve, add fresh slices of nectarine and blueberries
  7. Garnish with additional cinnamon sticks if desired.
